CTUB - Lehighton Receives Award

On August 5th, the clients and staff at CTUB - Lehighton Campus received an award for their efforts in helping ready the Carbon County Fair. This award, in appreciation of 10 years of volunteer work, recognized CONCERN for its help with the fairgrounds.

Every year the boys coordinate with Bob Silliman, fair president, to help get the grounds ready. No small task, the work involves moving tables, chairs, weed eating, staking fences, lifting 50-pound bags of dust settler, and more. The fair is organized by a small group of volunteers from local Lion and Lioness Clubs so the boys are looked upon as a big help every year.

In addition, on October 1st, the boys were honored by the Lehighton Area Lioness Lions for their efforts over the past year helping with the Lions project in the local community. Each boy received a laminated certificate, noting their hours of service through the Lions Club. This year, the boys accrued 247.5 hours.
