Youthful Achievements
CONCERN congratulates the many children in care who are active in their schools and communities and achieve personal and public goals. The following is just a small representation of the achievements of our youth:
Jose T., 14, began a program learning how to fix bikes after school.
Yonathan M., 3, is learning to play the piano and can already play “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”
Nadia E., 8, celebrated Super Bowl Reading Friday at her elementary school where she read “Amelia Bedilla” and partook in a special Super Bowl party.
Aaliyah M., 15, is an active member of the JROTC at her high school as well as a member of the school’s basketball team.
Dylan C., 8, was January Student of the Month at school.
Karyn R., 17, passed her First Responders exam, she is in the Protective Services program at her technical high school.
Brenda C., 10, and Kelly C., 7, performed in their church’s Christmas play.
Robin W., 18, graduated from her high school with honors and is now attending a private Christian college and playing soccer.
Karrie B., 8, can be found doing cartwheels on the cheerleading squad.
Cattylee B., 17, recently started her first job and is doing well in her cosmetology program. Every week she gives her time and energy to volunteer at a soup kitchen.
Jeremy T., 9, received an academic award for exceptional progress in his school work.
Nashalie D., 6, received a 94% in reading this quarter, which is a great improvement from the last marking period.
